First you will have to determine what frequency the ghosts become visible to the naked eye!. As with most of our senses, they have limitations Sound for instance is generally assumed to stimulate our ears with frequencies from 20Hz to 20,000Hz, Light from Red to Blue or 400 to 700 nm!. That's it

Most digital cameras !.!.!. at least the ones made since 2002 have what is called a hot mirror which prohibits IR (invisible light, but recordable using special films or unprotected sensors)!.

If like most of us, we don't know if the reflections of light from ghosts are near infrared or ultra violet !.!.!. or a weak light frequency in between, you will just have to pre focus the camera to where you expect the ghost to appear and then open the lens (in the dark) and then close it from time to time and then try again !.!.!. Exposures of an hour or so, should capture something if it is there!. Most ghost chasers that used film, would use a camera with no filter (no UV cutoff filter) to give them the best chance of capturing any ghostly presence!.

It was a hit and miss situation, because ANY light that got into the subject area, would expose the film to some extent and sometimes give false readings!.

here is the trick:

take picture of normal people, late in the evening when it's dark!. keep only one or two people in the frame!. it should be a lonely spot!.

next keep your camera shutter open for a long time and ask them to move!. their hazy picture will look like a ghost!.
