Not if it's a wedding

Anna, since I have been doing this for a long time I am kind of set in the framework of film!. In medium format I got 12 shots to a roll!. I can do a decent formal head shot sitting in 6 shots!. In 35mm, 36 shots was a lot!.!.a luxury!. I could wear someone out with 36 shots!. As I get more used to digital I am shooting more, but I still tend to shoot less than people who started with digital!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

photoshoot!? EDIT: i get exausted if i snap more than 30 shots, each one i look into the composition and light alot before snapping so i get tired and the right side of my head hurts!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. :)

depends how many images are needed, for a portrait maybe one or two exposures

product sometimes 3-4 images as i move the lighting around (if using digi as my polaroid), after that 1 or 2 per product

shooting homes/architecture , maybe 20-30 shots - of which 12 or so are used

once shot 8 rolls of 36exp 35mm film at a wedding, that would be my record

i learnt on film so every exposure was critical, generally i spend alot of time making sure when i hit the shutter im getting what i want

is it to much!?!? proberly, better to have 10 good shots than 300 average ones,,, you keep doing what your doing, your doing great!.

It depends Fur!.!.!.

If I am setting up something like a product then I'd hope to get close to a hole in 1 - i!.e!. a 100% success rate - but I would do some deleting as I shot while I refined the image!.

If I am taking as opposed to making images then it's more of a numbers game, which may see my hit rate drop to between 25% and 65%!.!.!. I edit hard to keep the quality bar up!.

On weddings it would be around a 65% success / keeper rate usually, maybe dropping to 50% if I had a lot of images and was really editing hard!. At a wedding (I only ever do one a day and nowadays they are mostly for friends, so a rarity) I'd typically take between 250 and 350 images!. This figure would be for an all day finishing at midnight coverage and it would include candid as well as set-up shots!.

So the ratio would change according to shots I was taking as opposed to those I was making!.!.!.

Hope that helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have never done any "official" photo shoots, but when I go somewhere with my camera, I can take anywhere from 50-200!. My memory cards are not large enough to hold many!. Earlier, when I took pictures of the caterpillar, I took 48 and only got about 10 usable ones out of it!. I have to take a lot of pictures (especially when I am using the macro setting) with my Powershot because the manual focus is almost impossible to use and I don't know if it is focusing on the right spot when it is on auto!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I really don't think you can put a number on your photography!. Take as many photos as you like or think you need!. A wedding would be more yet!. If you are just out to get some pictures, if you're like me, a roll of film doesn't last too long!. I love taking pictures and get a lot of satisfaction out of it!. I hope you do to!. I'd love to see some of your work!. Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on what the subject is!. Fast moving sports require a lot because of the awkward facial expressions and moving subject!. I typically shoot about 100-200 pics per match at these!. Weddings are high ticket items that can't be re-shot, so it is better to error on the high side with duplications!.
Portraits on the other hand, I shoot about 50-75 and show between 24 and 36 to the client Www@QuestionHome@Com

Oh, that really depends! If I'm out in my garden or somewhere else around home, I'll get around the same amount that I'd get on a roll of film--24-36 or so, or maybe up to 50 on a good day!. If I'm on vacation though, I'll take a couple hundred a day!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I usually take between 100 - 150!! Nope not too many, you also probably get more good ones out of yours then I do!. I usually get one or to 2 really good pictures out of my 150 pictures!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I used the Wista a couple of days ago and I took 2 pictures!.

Pretty exhausted after that so I hoisted about 6 cans of brew and then went to sleep!.
