Question: How did you take your photography "to the next level" !?
I asked this queestion a few days ago and got some really great answers!. I just wanted to ask again to see if anyone who didn't see it last time had any more good answers!.

I've been interested in photography and in a few years I've become fairly proficient in the basics of the technical side as well as the compositional side of photography!. I've taken some decent shots but I seem to be on a sort of plateau!. My stuff is decent but I want to take it up a notch!.

I'd like to ask some of the more experienced photographers here how they took their photography "to the next level"!. Where did you look for inspiration!? What did you change in your outlook / attitude !? Who inspired you !?

I don't mean in a technical way but in a more personal way!.

What in your mind separates a good photographer from a great photographer !?

Sorry if there is a lot in that question!.

Some of my own work can be found here :

Over 40 years I've found that it was not always possible to "TAKE it to the next level!." Sometimes I had to be patient, and wait for the next level to ARRIVE in its own good time!.

It might be a new place, or a new model, or a new grandchild, flower in the garden, bug on a leaf, time of the year !.!. or, well you get the point!.

Creativity is not always about MAKING something happen!. In fact, it almost never is!. Creativity is sometimes the ability and willingness to be open and receptive to the world around you!.

And when you least expect it, a fantastic new idea will just walk up and gently tap you on the shoulder !.!.!. or slap you up side the head!

Being ready when it does arrive - by being technically prepared and having the camera readily at hand - is the key!.

Then the real work can begin!. And great images may be the result!.
