Not really sure how to answer this question!. Nikon currently make two professional SLR cameras!. The F6 and the D3!. Canon make the 1Dmk3 and the 1Dsmk3!. Both companies make other cameras which are consumer cameras!. A 'professional' can use any type of camera they choose!. It is not the camera that makes one a professional!. However, the above cameras are classes as pro cameras for many reasons including build quality, ruggedness and the ability to change settings quickly!. There are also other formats such as medium and large format which generally cater for professional as well!.

For a 35mm DSLR, my choice is the Nikon D3!. It all depends however on what genre you photograph!. You are not going to use a 35mm camera if you a professional landscape or studion photographer!. For this you would use large and medium format cameras!. In medium format, for me, there is no getting past the Hasselblad 500 c/m (503c!.m)!.

I'm not going to recommend a camera to you for professional use because if you were good enough to be a pro, you wouldn't have to ask the question!.

It depend on your budget, I would really look at the Nikon D80 D200 D300, and the D3 those are some really good Nikon Camera!. The D80 is a very good camera for someone who budget is low!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
