It's me again :)

They used a long exposure, keeping her in the frame as she walked slowly across the scene!.

There seems to be some disagreement about whether it was a wide aperture, or a small aperture!. I don't think we can determine that!. You can't really tell what the depth of field is, because of the motion blur in the background!. With a long exposure, it could have just as easily been shot either wide open at f-2!.8, or stepped down to f-16!. also, we don't know what the ISO was and how long the exposure was!. There just isn't enough info!. You really just can't tell!. My guess is that it's somewhere in the middle, like maybe f-8, because her face is still somewhat in focus, so there seems to be a fair depth of field!.

also, the issue of a flash seems pretty pointless!. With a long exposure, you don't need a flash!. The light seems pretty even, and in fact you can tell that her face is mostly lit by the lights on the ceiling!. The light is coming mostly from above the model and from the direction she's walking, not from the camera!. So that pretty much negates a flash!.

So here's my guess!.!.!.they used a long exposure, panning the camera and keeping her in the frame as she slowly walked across the scene!. The aperture was maybe at about f-8 (I'm REALLY taking a guess on that) and they did NOT use a flash!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A slow shutter speed and a wide open lens was used in this photograph!. The photographer followed the walk of the model with his camera, so making her appear 'still' and by doing so the background 'moved'!.

The model does not look like there is flash being used!. Slow speed pan tracking the model in the frame while using a small f-stop (like f16) and a shutter speed of about 1/15th second!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

slow shutter and pan with the model, its not complicated

You'll get a similar effect with rear curtain flash too!.
