If you are using Nikons RAW file go to NikonUSA and download ViewNX!. Convert RAW NEF files to JPEG and TIFF formats with ease!. You can even adjust white balance and exposure compensation!.

Every camera manufacturer has its own RAW format!. If its not Nikons RAW you will have to go to the cameras web site for thier software!. Or if you are shooting DNG you have to get the DNG converter off Adobe's siteWww@QuestionHome@Com

Your D40 should have come with software to do this!. Install the disc on your computer and you should be all set!.

If I recall you also have a Canon camera!. If that camera is capable of shooting RAW this to would have come with a RAW converter!.

If you don't have the software try Nikons website or download the trial version of Photoshop!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No problem!. Download Picasa 2 (just Google Picasa in google follow the instructions) its free!. It will automaticly find all the photos on your computer and catalog them!. Open any raw file and select save as in the file menu!. It will save it as a jpeg by default!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
