When you are producing a drawing of anything that measures more than two or three feet across, (like you are drawing a car or something) then the drawing must almost out of necessity be smaller than the object!. And in order to execute this successfully, the reduction must be in every way proportionate!. To whatever extent the representation of the object is DIMINISHED or increased, the relative proportion of ever part of the drawing to the corresponding part of the object must remain uniform throughout in order to produce an accurate drawing!. That's when people say "its to scale"!. Like a map and its legend i would suppose!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
