Question: I need help on picking oil paints and good brushes!?
I used to paint back in High school about 4 or 5 years ago!. I can't remember the type of oil paint I used in school, and I've lost my brushes!. I have no idea what kind to get, what are the best in quality, and what are the best quality for a low budget!. I would like to get really good stuff, but I cannot afford anything too extravagant I just want to start up a nice hobby again and with good paints and brushes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Go to the web site wetcanvas!.com and look for oil painting, learning zone, and read about getting started!. Use the information about brushes and paints to get a good answer for your question!.
I am not in favor of purchasing a "kit" because they usually have lots of things you will never need and not enough of items you will use every painting session!.
Search: Oil painting instruction on the web, don't wait for and read answers on Y!?A!. Maybe a good place to get an opinion (like mine), but not always the best place to get specific information!.
Good luck & good painting!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would suggest that you stick with "student grade" paint and brushes for the time being!. Some art stores even have their own brand of paints and brushes that will give you that little boost towards your goal!. You could purchase a set of paints that includes a paint box, brushes, and paints and then supplement your palette with other colors as you go along!. Good luck!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Please don't buy student grade paints!. It's a complete waste of money and product!. If you have any desire for your paintings to last, buy artist grade!. Since you have asked for good quality paints at a good price I would suggest Gamblin!. Go to pearlpaint!.com for great discounts on many brands of paint!. As far as brushes go, natural brushes are recommended for oils, but very expensive!. I use Princeton synthetic sable brushes!.!.!.these work like natural hair brushes but for a much better price! I hope this helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com
