Your camera has many possibilities! The problem is you are inexperienced and don't have enough knowledge to take professional photos yet!. But rest aside!.!.!. I am here to give you some tips!.

First of all, you want to have the best lighting possible!. And the very best is ambient ( natural sunlight ) light!. Because when you take indoor shots you most likely will need the flash and this poses a few problems!. First of all, if you are photographing people you tend to get red eye, and second, if you have a person or objects too close to a background you get the shadow effect which is a BIG SIGN of an amateur photographer!.

also, you want to be creative with your composition and angles on your subjects!. Don't always put things right in the middle, and don't feel like you have to get the whole subject!. Zoom in and only get bits and pieces for a close up, interesting effect!.

Yes, your camera FujiFilm Finepix z5 can take professional photos!. You need to practice more shooting and also learn more about your camera function so that you can take good pictures in a professional way!. Like me, I tested every functions in the camera, and download to the computer, and analyse all the photos, then you know what to do in future if you want to take a very good photo and as well in a professional way!.

In addition, you need to read more about photographing books to get more knowledges!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well that camera is more a point-and-shoot sort of camera!. Sony, Nikon, and Canon all make inexpensive compact cameras!. You can get them starting at $150!.
It's great that you're interested, get lots of practice with the camera you do have now!.
Then once you get the hang of out and figure out the ins and outs of camera's you can save up for a big expensive pro one!.
But really, in my opinion you can take great pictures with any camera! Kind of like how the guy up there said about camera phones!. It's true!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have a Finepix F470!. It is a good camera for learning composition and lighting technique!. You can also control the white balance and ISO!. Personally, I am going to learn composition and lighting before I spend $600 on a DSLR!. An expensive camera does not take professional pictures if an amateur is behind the lens!

Those are my opinions!. Take it or leave it!. I love the following article about taking good pictures with a point & shoot!.

Good luck!. I would love to see some of your photos!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can take professional photos if you mean as far as compositionally, but when it comes to the resolution of the image and control over the cameras shutter speed and f/stop, you will have to graduate to a DSLR!. The best entry level DSLR at this time is the Nikon D40 with 18-55 mm lens for around $470

It is not small enough to fit in your purse however !.!.!. but a backpack will work just fine!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can't take professional photos with one like you have or any kind that are small enough to fit in a purse!. Any professional camera is gonna cost you $600 + just to start!. If you want professional photos you have to buy a DSLR (digital single lens reflex) to have any success!. I would say the Nikon d-40, but it's kinda pricey!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, I highly doubt you'll ever find a professional carrying around a fujifilm finepix!.!.!. but for now, practice composition and lighting!. When you can afford it, get yourself a nice DSLR so you can learn to control the aperture, shutterspeed, ISO, white balance, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you can take good pics with a cell phone cam

IF
you know how!.

so how do you find out how!? easy!. READ everything you can about photography!. kenrockwell!.com has a lot of useful info!. so does wikipedia!. become a hermit in the local barnes and noble for a month until you read all their photog books!.

then get out and take some pics!
practice makes perfect!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
