Congratulations on the DSLR! I am a photographer in training right now!. I am a photographer for the military- (and I was very fortunate to get the job)!. It is great! I get paid to be trained! -Which is also paying my way through college!. When you get to high school- or know a photographer who needs an assistant be sure to ask around!. -- You may not get a job that pays right away- but it would give you plenty of experience!. Secondly, have your parents contact the local newspaper about free lance!. (I don't get paid because I live in a small town) But you should do anything to get your name known!. Thirdly, if you are interested in possibly selling your artwork, look into redbubble!.com!. I have one but I don't sell my artwork yet, but it is a great source of inspiration and you can get feedback from other artists!.

Hope this helps-- enjoy!.!.lolWww@QuestionHome@Com

I would look around your town to see if there are any local craft shows happening around there, and try to get some of your prints in it to sell!. Before you sell you really need to get your name out there!. You could also try planning an event like an art show to show off your work!. Seeing as your only 13 though, I think if you just do the craft show thing that would work the best!. I did this and made photography stationary and it worked out pretty well!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You do nice work, Ben!.

Before you can sell your work, people have to see your work!. Makes sense, I know, but you'd be surprised how many people lament not being able to sell their work, yet don't have any photos displayed publicly!.

There are a few avenues you can approach to get your images noticed!. First, see if there are any cafeterias, coffee shops, bookstores, malls, photo stores, library, etc, in your area that have areas to display local art!. If you can find an opening on their art schedule, you'll be able to have small show, usually for free!.

also, check out local art galleries!. You may not get a show, but may be able to hang a piece, or two, in their retail/gift shop!.

Don't forget art fairs, but many of these require a 10'x10' tent and admission fee!. Still, something to consider for the future!.

Lastly, there are probably amateur or kids photo contests at the county fair or 4H fair, school or library!. Give 'em a shot!.

Remember, you've got to somehow get your images in front of the public if you want to make any sales!. Just keep you expectations reasonable and don't get discouraged!.

Good Luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try to intern at a portrait studio or the like, then get into a good photography program at a college!. Keep practicing, develop your own style, and work hard!. That's about it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
