I'm just starting out and could use some good feedback!. Thanks, Julia Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: the first is better for a few reasons: the subject is in focus and the color is true it is well composed, in other words the subject is more in the golden mean than dead center, you used the "rule of thirds" in composing it!. and you have just one flower, 1,3,5, odd numbers are best for subjects in an image even numbers just don't fly well!. the second image: there is an even number of subjects dead center and they are blown out, the light takes away from the color of them!. it is not well composed, move them to one side and do some color correction and it may be a decent image, even with an even number (the rules are not etched in stone) i checked some of your photostream, you know a good image and you have the ability to do well with a camera, i'm impressed!. the images of your sister dancing on the beach are awesome and very touching!.Www@QuestionHome@Com The first is better composition wise, but it is always better to use a shallow depth of field to isolate the flower!.
