Question: What graphic tablet would you recommend me!?
I have a 17"(1280x1024 pixels)LCD Monitor and I would like to know what is the most suitable size if I was to use a graphic tablet for drawing and painting!.

I'm not a professional artist/designer but I'm really interested in digitalizing my drawings and eventually move on to painting them!.

Will a small one like 5!.8" x 3!.7" working area would be sufficient enough!? Will 512 levels of pressure sensitivity be enough for painting!?
Does resolution(LPI) matter!?

Giving me the brand and model name would be convenient!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

If it were me I'd spring and get the Wacom Intuos3 tablet, 6"x9" --it's not too big, not too small!. But it's also not especially cheap ($350)!.

But if you are a hobbyist, just wanting some fun at home, etc!. then get some of the less expensive Wacom models!.

A small one will work just fine, as you can adjust the sizing vs!. monitor to be relative, but remember that you'll have more repetative hand and wrist movements!. This is important as you can potentially injure yourself if you end up using it a lot or have a very tight grip, etc!. That's why I recommend the middle size of 6x9!.

I can't stress enough the value of a Wacom Intuos3 (or Intuos2 if you can find one) --I've had a couple of them and they are excellent, an industry standard for a reason!. You could start off with a cheaper one but even that might run you $100+ so just bite the bullet and get the last one you'll ever need, the Intuos3!.

If you can find one for $350 then get it --I've noticed over the years that they almost never go down in price!.

Good luck and have fun!Www@QuestionHome@Com
