It's a bit complex at first, but I happen to love it!. http://www!.blender!.org For tutorials, check out the wikiHow and just google Blender3D tutorials!. For 2D animation, I haven't found any good free ones yet, but that doesn't mean there aren't any!. GIMP http://gimp!.org has a nice animated !.gif tool, and it's free, but it's like Photoshop in complexity!. However, you might be disappointed by how crippled these stripped down programs are compared to their more expensive Pro versions!. But if you look hard enough you should be able to find them cracked online (rapidshare, bittorrent)!. There are some free alternatives!.
