I bought a Pentax H1A in March 1968 - in an Army Exchange in Lai Khe, Viet Nam!.

Needless to say it survived several months in a war zone, under the nastiest conditions, monsoon rains, dust and dirt!.

When I brought it home, I continued to use it for several years before I moved up to another Pentax!.

It now holds a place of honor on my shelf of old cameras - still works! Www@QuestionHome@Com

I loaned my Nikon FM2 to my daughter for a class last year!. That means it actually survived time in a teenager's bedroom!

Oh the horrors!

Okay, seriously, I used to have a Canon AV1, and I was walking across a street with it, tripped and fell directly on the lens! And it survived! The lens cap was pushed in a little, but the lens and camera were fine!.

I tend to spill stuff on my cameras a lot!. Once I was at a street fair, eating buttered corn on the cob, and some butter spilled on my lens!. Wiped it off, and it was fine!. Never soaked in!. I spilled some Sprite on another lens, but it wiped it off in time!. Then I dripped a little bit of lemonade on my shutter button, but it never soaked in!. I wiped it off and set it upside-down just in case!.

And I've dropped a few cameras in my day, usually just a couple feet!. One popped open!. Ruined a few exposures of the film, but the camera survived!.

I am a bit of a klutz, aren't I!?

And you should see my daughter's room--you'd agree it was an ordeal for my camera!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

once upon a time, i was at a Kill Hannah concert!. i was so excited, that i had dropped my camera and didnt realize it for about 10 minutes!. that means it was on the ground under who knows how many feet for 10 minutes, plus the next 5 minutes it took me to find it!. a whole bunch of people lit up their cell phones and lighters near the ground to look for it!.

it also survived an Underoath moshpit, which my ribs sadly almost didnt survive!. lol!

plus multiple other concerts, including one Warped Tour!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My F100 survived a pretty ferocious dog fight!. It got very dirty and dusty, but a can of air and several damp rags later everything was peachy again!. One of the dogs had to get stitches, though :-(

My stoopid little 2MP Samsung digicam that we used for a passport camera at work has survived several drops to a tile over concrete floor!. (And is still going, although we never use it for passport photos now!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like this question!!

Well my little camera survived being spray with the hose!. I was at my sisters birthday party and I sprayed her with the hose and then she sprayed me back and my little camera got wet!. Then it wouldn't turn on for a few days and we though it was not fixable and then I put it in a bowl of uncooked rice and now it works just fine like nothing happened!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

busted a lens when i set my camera down on a toilet tank and left the room (was shooting a camo finish in the bathroom) will never just set my camera down on anything again without knowiing full well it is far away from any edges and on a good flat surface that is level!. i had to drive 40 miles and spend a few hundred dollars to replace the lens that day to finish the shoot!. that was an "interesting" day!.
my camera spends alot of time in my not so clean van, and on alot of building/construction sites!.!.!.so far i haven't had any damage!.
if i go to the less forgiving areas of town i have a friend with me, usually he's armed with more than just a camera (and the two of us have been known to rock and roll so the cameras and such loose the temptation)
it survives my lovely and talented wife, too!. which i find just as amazing!.
i shudder to think we sometimes take it out on a canoeWww@QuestionHome@Com

my mom dropped my Panny Fz8 but it was in a nice camera case!. It was snug, but had some room to move and was cushioned well!. It probably saved me 225 bucks!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
