Question: My Sister wants to be a Photographer!. So what is the first thing she needs to do!? FYI: She is 11
She asked me "Taryn what can i do to become a photographer" and i said "Get good grades and stay in school" and she said she wants to start now! so i said i will see what i can find on the computer so i'm asking this question!. she is 11 years old and loves to take pictures!.
She is better than me! and im 13! my pictures are always blurry! hers are strait and not blurry!she has a talent! she wants my camera cos its digital but i got this camera last year from my parents and she always uses mine when i let her but she wants to take it to Utah next week! im not going to utah cos i wanna stay home!. but she wants to learn how to be a photographer! and she has skills so please help! First get a couple of books on the subject!. I would recommend Brian Petersons' "Understanding Exposure"!. Hit some online forums, www!.nikonians!.org for instance!. Above all get out there and shoot!. Photography is not a career about getting a degree!. It is all about mixing two very different skills: technical photography( ie how do I set this camera up to get the picture I want) and artistic skill!. Only one of these two can be found in a classroom!. Now before you start thinking about slacking off on school, the techniques of photography involve plenty of math!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
she needs to read!. she needs to read everything she can about photography written by pros!. kenrockwell!.com is a good place to start!. beyond that she needs to take lots of photos and apply the techniques she reads about with every photo she takes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Tell her to get her own digital,she can take a ton of pics and delete the ones you don't like!.Post the good pics on websites like Snapfish or Flickr!. Learn how to arrange your shots, backgrounds, lighting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
