Keep it up!Www@QuestionHome@Com Just did a quick browse through your photostream and didnt see anything horrible but your asking this so that you can get some tips right!? Ok!. http://flickr!.com/photos/joannasphotolab!.!.!. I'll just say a few things about this one!. First off I dont know how your camera works, how you can fine tune anything on it!. It may be one of those cameras that you cant control anything so some of this may be out of your control!. First off, it was a nice capture, but you have alot of noise in the image!. Those colored specks are noise, looks similar to film grain!. To avoid that you would want to use a lower ISO (yours was set to 800)!. Now that would mean that you would have to shoot slower, but as long as you dont have too slow of a shutter speed you'd still be ok!. 1/100th would have been fine if the critter was somewhat still and you werent wiggling the camera!. ISO 400 would have given you the a shutter speed very close to 1/100th of a second and less noise would have been present!. Second the colors are a bit too vibrant!. Almost unreal!. You may be going for that kind of look, but if not you may want to turn the saturation down a notch!. Third you may have gotten more "depth" or perception of the dimension of the butterfly if you had a different angle or back lighting even (back lighting isnt an easy thing to shoot and the butterfly probably would have just flown away by the time you figured out how to do it)!. But a different angle showing the flower behing the butterfly would have given it contrast, and that would have added an element of dimension!. Your focal length was at 63mm (you werent zoomed out)!. Thats probably the way that you should have done that!. Going all the way wide or all the way tele introduces problems sometimes!. But keep this in mind!. Your camera will have a wider aperture when your lens is zoomed out (wide) as opposed to zoomed in!. So if your battling low light or long shutter speeds, then go wide!. If you're serious about photography, I'd try to take more pictures of more meaningful, symbolic scenes!.
