Yellowstone and Bryce are amazing places!. I am glad you got to see them, and you have pictures for your album!.

The first one is very colorful, really the color there is too saturated and does not look realistic!. The picture of Bryce is a little washed out, and the horizon line is crooked!. In landscapes the horizon needs to be straight!. I have done a little adjustment on Bryce so you can see what I'm talking about!.

Let me know when you have seen it, and I will remove it from Flickr!.

Both of these photos would have been much better taken early in the morning or late in the afternoon!. At those times of day, the shadows lend definition to form and the light is softer and less harsh!. Sunrise and sunset are often called the "golden" hours for photography of landscapes or people, too!. Of course, when traveling you can't always be somewhere at sunset or sunrise and we have to take what we have,

Try www!.kodak!.com and www!.betterphoto!.com for tutorials and tips and great galleries of images to browse!.

For 12 years old I think you are doing fine!. Begin learning the technical and artistic stuff and keep practicing!. One day you may be a fine photographer and we will line up to buy your work! Best wishes!.

*EDIT*

I added a couple of my Bryce images from a trip several years ago!. They are very much like yours!. We also did Yellowstone on a trip, but I don't have any images scanned from there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The scenery itslef its gorgeous!.
You camera quality is clear but-
it doesnt look like you have skill in snapping photos!.
Just because the scene is amazing and your camera is clear, doesnt mean your a master with taking good looking photos!.
For all I know you could have been on vacation and decided to take out your camera and snap a few photos of what you were looking at!. big deal!.

Try to look at the small details in life!.
Like a bug crawling up a tree
Or a bird swooping down with great precision!.
Focus in on something close up or even far away!.

Im not saying what you have here is pure garbadge- its not!.
Im sorry if ive come off mean and im not trying to be!.
Just keep practising and in no time you'll have people shocked at what you've takenWww@QuestionHome@Com

two is a good number to ask about, too many and nobody can think!.!.!.
i like the colors in the first one, the blue on the water is magnificent!.
get a beginner's book about photography if you want to learn and study about what is called the rule of thirds, it is how to compose a shot!. the waterfall is dead center, and that is most of the time a no no in compostition!.
but they are nice pictures, don't get discouraged just because one old pooh tells you something, study the great photographer's works and get books to read about them and their work, photography is a fun and interesting field, you will get many hours of enjoyment and learning from it!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

for the first one, it seems like the water fall is your focus!. if so you should pick a better spot so the trees aren't in the way!. for the second one, the canyon (at least i think thats what it is) is overbearing!. pick something in the foreground to focus on with the canyon as a backdrop!. or even just take the picture sideways so the blue sky provides a good contrast!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I can't critique them!. They're beautiful!! Don't worry, I'm 12 as well!. lols!. Anyway, for the waterfall, you might want to take it from a further distance then it will be a it smaller and more nicer!. =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

The first one feels way over-edited!.

I like the second one a lot!. It's straightforward and has a quietness to the drama!. But it feels a little cropped on the bottom, chopped off a bit!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would critique them, but you wouldn't listen to me!. After all, you won't listen to Yahoo when they are quite plain about their terms of service!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
