Question: Tools for sketching!?
I've kind of gotten interested in hand-drawing, and I remember reading a while back about utensils that are useful for sketching (Fancy pencils, fancy erasers, etc!.) I'm wondering what you recommend that I use that will give me an edge over just a standard pencil!. Thanks in advance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Tool: Kneaded eraser
Use: To lighten or erase an area in a certain shape!.
How to use it: Knead the eraser and shape it to whatever size/shape you need!. Not good for heavy erasing!.

Tool: Pencils H and B!.
(You should see pencils that are H and B!. Both should come with a different number printed on them!.)
Use: Drawing!.
How to use: H pencils are harder lead, meaning the lines the make are lighter!. B pencils are softer lead meaning they come out darker!. The number tells you how hard the pencil is!.

Tool: Eraser
Use: Erasing
How to use: I'm sure you know how to erase!.!.!. lol

There are also things called blenders, but by using them, you're cheating yourself in learning how to shade properly!.

Hope I helped!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Lostie's advice is good!. also try charcoal or pastels!. Any art shop will have them!. You can use them with the prementioned pencils and erasers!. I would also reccomend a class or a book!. Look at the big picture, draw out the big shapes before getting into the details!. Your proportion will be a lot better!. That is the best thing I learned from college!. !.!.!.!. oh yah, draw everything, set up things to draw, and bring a pad around with you, you never know what you will find to draw!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
