I feel that I am alone that is not praising you--and I don't want you to take it to heart!.

Warp Tour: I realize that you may not have been able to choose where you stood at the concert!. But I do think pointing the camera at the singer from a few feet below seems a little odd!. If you were free to move about, a different angle would have been better, something like this: http://www!.flickr!.com/photos/little_pook!.!.!.

Live Shows: The composition -- these photos look like they were taken from a foot or so from the ground!. Again, it looked like you were able to move around, in this case, I do think you could have used a longer (telephoto) lens!. Step back a little, and get a tighter shot, from the same point of view, like this: http://www!.flickr!.com/photos/little_pook!.!.!.

The Promo Shots: The boys look uncomfortable!. Were you communicating with them--did you tell them exactly what you wanted them to do!? Some of these actually looked like you were counting, "One!.!. twooooo!.!. and three!" before you snapped the photos!. Every photo looks like you were pointing the camera upward (it's more obvious here since you were shooting at wider setting)!. Keep the camera level to the boys!. The buildings & wall behind them look like they were leaning back!.

I hope I have not been too harsh!. Others were kind and showered you with compliments--but I thought I could tell you what I really feel and hope you are not too upset by this!.

I also feel that you can use a short to medium telephoto zoom lens for your camera and some of these shots will look better!.

I think I have to agree with Pooky, although you are on the right path asking for critique I think you need to work on your composition!.

Positioning is definitely a challenge in a lot of shoots, hence the dent in the top of my husband expedition from trying to get up high enough to get the right angle!.

also, engaging the subjects can play a key role in capturing a good picture or an great picture!.

I don't know what kind of camera you are shooting but also consider shooting in raw if possible, you will have far more control when editing!.

Someone once told me to stop looking at the world as 3D and start looking at it in 2D!. It took me a while to figure out what he meant and I am still working at incorporating it into my world when I go out shooting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nice job!. I especially liked the Horrorpops picture!. It would be even better if you edited it to tone down the instrument on the left!. Concert lighting is always pot luck, but try to get more pictures like that, where the face is highlighted!. Some of the pics, especially the Now It's the Last ones have the white balance off!. A lot of cameras seem to have a problem with artificial light; you might try manually setting it!.

The promo shots are a bit flat!. Better lighting (to emphasize the people) would help!. And zoom in more - the guys are practiaclly lost in the background in some of them!.

I think you've got the technical basics down pretty well!. The next phase is to add more drama!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wow they are amazing!.

i liked the first one the best!. you could focus on the object/person more soand leave the rest unfocused!. this would add effect!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think your pictures are great!. No advise necessary!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

how did you get a photo pass!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

youre amazing :]
nice jobWww@QuestionHome@Com

Very nice! I liked your shots of Oli!. Good job, keep it up!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Crop it just a bit on the right side of the photo, just crop it so that the edge of the photo ends right at the end of the guitar!.

Photography wise, I'd say that it is very good, I like the angle and the shadow on his guitar blends in perfectly!. Very well composed with almost perfect focus, except you may have wanted to try focusing out the background just a little bit, because the random hand and instrument behind the main guy is kind of distracting to the overall picture!. Besides that it looks pretty good, I have some personal experience in the area of Photography, but most of what I know comes from my father, he is the president of a Commercial and Marketing Corporation and they have a photography division that does some photo work at a concert that the business sponsors!. From what i've learned I'd say that based on what I've seen your work is pretty good and if all of your photos are of this or better quality than being hired shouldn't be too big of a problem for you!.

P!.S!. The top part of my comment is referring to the very top photo on the page you linked to!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

pretty average!. anybody with a good camera and a backstage pass would be able to get shots like these!.!.!.!.!.!.

To Livy C,

I didn't say that you're shots are bad, except for the first picture, the rest seemed to be pretty much the same!. Some of these people who disagree are a bit bit hypocritical to know a good photograph to an average one!. You are right that a DSLR would be a good camera to use!. But the angle of youre shots are almost all in one direction: looking up!. Try to get shots from the top with the crowd (to dramatize the place was packed); from behind the vocalist showing crowd (to dramatize the impact of the band from the fans), abd some shots that would show the band as a group or individual shots!. Some effects like the sun setting from behind; sepia effect and bandmates captured in 'Kodak' moments would prove to be vital to show that these people are also 'human'!.!.!.!.

While your photos are like I say, average, you're actually off to a pretty good start!. And let these other people know that criticism is not at all bad!.!.!.!.!.good luck being a photographer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
