Question: If I were a professional wedding photographer, what kind of camera would I have!?
I want to become a wedding photographer and I need a awesome new camera but I'm not sure what to get!. I don't want to spend more than $1,500 - $2,000 for the body!. Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I use/prefer Canon so that's what I'm going to recommend but keep in mind that Nikon also makes excellent cameras so you may want to try out both brands and see which you like better!.

A Canon 5D or 40D would be best for you!. The 5D is going to be the preferred model of the two by most wedding photographers but if you need something cheaper the 40D is a really great camera as well (that's what I use!.) One of the main things you need to look for is something that handles noise well at higher ISO's and is good in low-light situations, since you'll be doing a lot of shooting inside poorly-lit churches!.

One thing you need to remember though is that as a professional you should NEVER rely on only one camera! A good photographer never goes anywhere without a backup body!. Trust me, cameras always choose the worst times possible to malfunction, and when someone's paying you big money to document the most important day of your life it's your responsibility to be prepared for anything!. Even if you just pick up a cheaper used model, just make sure you have something reliable to use in case of emergency!. I generally keep both of my cameras with me whenever I shoot, one with a wide angle and one with a longer focal length, that way I don't have to be constantly changing lenses!.

The lenses you choose are also just as important (if not even more important) as the body!. You need fast, sharp lenses!.!.!. something that'll open up to f/2!.8 or wider is preferable!. A wide angle lens is an absolute must, and something like a 70-200mm can also come in handy!.
If you have the money, invest in L series lenses and Image Stabilizer!. There are some good non-L lenses though that will suffice until you can afford the really good glass, so just do your research before buying!.

You'll also need a good off-camera flash and a diffuser for it!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

You would have a Nikon D300 or a Canon 40D with a 24-70 mm f/2!.8 lens and appropriate flash unit !.!.!. and about a years experience working with a pro wedding photographer learning the business!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You'll need what ace just suggested--basically a camera that doesn't fall apart on you if it's used everyday!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nikons are excellent!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
