i'll put my neck out and say i like emin's work!. Mainly her early work!. The reason she is critised alot, art world or popular culture, is because her work is deeply personal which goes against the grain, it's sort of self-absorbed!. The best thing to do is to read some critiques on her earlier works, the type of small reviews from museum sites, they sum up her concept nicely

such as-
"Tracey Emin shows us her own bed, in all its embarrassing glory!. Empty booze bottles, fag butts, stained sheets, worn panties: the bloody aftermath of a nervous breakdown!. By presenting her bed as art, Tracey Emin shares her most personal space, revealing she’s as insecure and imperfect as the rest of the world!."

Some of her work is quite sweet in a way i guess, 'Everyone I Have Ever Slept With 1963-1995' also known as 'that tent that burnt down' isn't just for shock, so we can say oh what a slag, it includes names of family and friends that she's shared a bed with, it represents those that she has lowered her personal boundaries to, a tribute to them if you will!. The thing is that it's personal, it has no meaning outside of her life!.

It's not easy work to get all the time, some i have to really think on for a good while (or just read the brochure!.
