Works for me:)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try using a triangle!. also you can use you micosoft "paint" and use the line tool!. Use the "grid line" view and draw the perfect square, then print it out!.

Free hand is done by letting your 3rd finger or pinky follow the edge of the paper and guiding your hand straight!. Drawing is mostly practice and concentration!. Like everything, plan the task, go over it in your mind, then execute!.

In drafting classes we used "t-squares" and triangles as line guides!. Today, Drafting machines with the two arms are used if drawing is not computer generated!.

ok, take your ruler, measure out 2 inches on left and right side of the paper!. then, draw a line from the top of the paper to the bottom of the paper!. Now, if your not eating the paper or turning red, draw a line from the middle of the left line to the middle of the right line!.

it this doesnt work, buy paper with lines on it!.!.

good luck!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Whats so perfect about a straight anyway!? its got no charactor at all, its plain and uncreative, very commercial like as well, and its symbolizes comfomity!. Let your hand make what it wants to make, be your self grass hopper!.

you are not alone - neither are you clumsy!.

Engineers and other people (designers, etc) who have to have perfect 90 degree angles use T-squares, not rulers!.

the best T-squares are metal ( architects use them) but you can get cheaper ones!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

a protracor would help and also if you line the end of the ruler up with the side of the paper, that would help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

humans can't draw perfectly straight lines!. but look on the bright side, we can draw awesome muppets!. and there's not a single muppet you need a straight line to draw!. not even bert!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well personally I LOATHE rulers!.!.!.I draw alot and I completely hate them - because the lines may be straight but they're always slanted!.

I'm a sketcher, so since my artwork doesn't have to be precise, I simply sketch all my lines and they end up much straighter than if I used a ruler!. Then, I use an eraser to erase the random 'flyaways', if you will!. But I don't know - if your artwork is more professional than that, I'm not sure how to help you out! Maybe draw a light dotted line with the ruler where you want the line first!. Then, rotate the ruler 90 degrees and see if the line is the same distance away from the edge of the paper at the top, middle, and bottom of the line!. If it's not, fix it a bit!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
