To begin with, you WILL need some kind of graphics application!. These can range from something simple, such as the Paint program that already came with your computer, on up to Professional apps like Photoshop and Illustrator, which can cost several hundered dollars, or more!.

The other part to consider is how you GET your drawings into the computer and the software!. You can draw on paper, and then scan the drawings into the computer!. A useful flat bed scanner can be found for around $50 and up!. You really don't need to spend a lot on this!.

One CAN draw with a mouse, but, this method has been described as "drawing with a brick" since it is unnatural and VERY slow!. However, some artists manage to do very good work this way!.

The best and most reasonably priced method is to use a digital drawing tablet!. It is a special electronic pad with a stylus!. The artist holds the pad and stylus just as if drawing with a pencil and sketchpad!. The difference is that the image appears on the monitor instead of the pad!. This last part takes some getting used to, but, once mastered, most artists find this VERY natural and familiar!. (intuitive) These pads range in price from under $50 up to over a thousand!.

I suggest, for an entry level, low cost intoduction to one of thes pads that you check out the Computer Geeks site!. ( http://geeks!.com ) You will find these under the "Mouse" category, and some can run as low as $29!. I bought a couple for my grandkid's computer, last year, and I find these as functional as my old Wacom Pen Partner, which I have been using for over four years!.

You may get all kinds of advice about these, but, take a bit of my advice!. Bigger tablets are NOT better!. Just more expensive!. The big difference is in the size of the monitor, not the tablet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you can get a touchscreen pc, tablet pc, a drawing pad that is touch sensitive you connect it to your computer!.

usually they use programs like photoshop!. the gimp is basically photoshop with a different interface for free!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well you can draw on your computer using the Paint application!.

But I've also seen laptops that come with a special pen that you can "draw" with and they have a touch screen!. You might want to look into those!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
