Question: Does anyone know the names of the fonts!?

Does anyone know the names of the fonts used for major publication covers such as Cosmopolitane, Vogue, Vanity Fair and other mags!?

Having worked in Women's Fashion Magazine Publishing for 18 years, I can tell you that they start out as a normal font, but the Art Director gets ahold of it and "tweaks" them so they really aren't a normal font anymore! ( I worked for Cosmo, Elle, Harper's Bazaar and Marie Claire)!.
