Question: Problems unloading and loading film!?
The first time I got my camera I didn't have any problems loading the film or unloading it!.!.but after unloading my second roll of film I noticed that it was much harder to unwind and when I opened the back a piece of the film was ripped off!. Then when I tried to load my third roll of film I couldn't take any pictures, it wasn't working!. Then when I tried to rewind it, the whole roll of film began to rip!. So my question is how do I fix it and is my second roll of film ruined because it was a lot harder to rewind!? Thanks in advance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Put the narrow tip of your film into the slot in the take- up spool and crank the advance lever, press the shutter, crank again until the whole width of the film is engaged onto the take- up spool!. Make sure the film is moving when you crank the advance lever BEFORE closing the film chamber door!. Now advance, click and advance again and you're good to go!.

When rewinding, make sure you fully depress the rewind clutch release button usually located on the bottom of the camera BEFORE beginning to turn the rewind lever!. Keep your finger on that button for the full duration of the rewind process

Now just remember the drill every time and you're okay!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Check inside and make sure there are no pieces of film jammed in the take-up reel!. Little bits of torn off film would do what you described!.

If there really are no bits of film stuck in there, your camera probably needs a good clean, lube and adjust!. Take it to a camera store and ask them if they can do it or send it out!. It's not terribly expensive!.

also, as Walter J mentioned, Zenit isn't a very good camera!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Welchm53 has good general advice about loading film!. However, if the problem gets progressively worse, you may have a problem with the camera!. First check the mechanism carefully for dirt!. Then look for any part that may be bent or broken!. The Zenit cameras do not have a good reputation for quality!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
