Don't go to Venice - please!. But make for Rome!. If you go on the Vatican Walking Tour you wil see his sculpture - Pieta , and his paintings in the Sistine Chape - ceiling and altar wall!. For more details of Michelangelo in Rome go to http://www!.tours-italy!.com/rome/michelan!.!.!.
You need to go to Milan - Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie to see da Vinci's most famous work (you must book ahead, you can do this on line)
As you can see from the illustrated list of his famous works, not many of da Vinci paintings are in Italian galleries, but you will find that of St!. Jerome in the Vatican !. The main place for all these places is definitely Florence!. Not Venice, Naples, Bologna or Sicily!. There all also some in Rome but not as many!.
