To accomplish the backlit effect (and silhouette) you will need to expose for the sky or the window!. If you aim your camera to the sky it will tell you the f-stop and shutter speed and then set those settings under manual settings and take the picture!.
The sky or window will be lit and the subject will be a silhouetteWww@QuestionHome@Com

That silhouette was accomplished by being in the right place at the right time!. Sometimes it happens through luck and a good eye, others you may find the loaction and scene you want but you have to return and look at that place during several times of the day to know when the lighting will be just right for what you are looking for!. the last light of the day normally gives golden light that is warmer than morning light!. A polarizer will normally give you richer sky colors !. Colors can also be enhanced in photoshop!. I like this silhouetteWww@QuestionHome@Com
