Question: How can I resize a 3072 X 2304 size picture to 1280 X 800 without distortion!?

or loss of quality!?

My digital camera takes photos in 3072 X 2304,
But i want 1280 X 800 so that they fit on my desktop without stretchingWww@QuestionHome@Com

As many folks here have said the aspect ratio is different so there will have to be some cropping to get it to fit the ratio you want!. You can crop it in photoshop or virtually any other editing program!. Then you can resize it!. In photoshop Open your photograph in Photoshop and go to Image, Image Size!. Make sure the constrain porportions box is checked then change one of the numbers to the size you want!. The other number will change automatically within the same aspect ration you cropped to

The proportions have to be equally dividable!

Yes you can scale it down from 3072 x 1280, only the width would be something like 540 not 800! You have to decide what part of the picture you could do without, the sky perhaps, and look again at rescaling it proportionally until you achieve the equally proportional downscale!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Those aspect ratios are different (1!.33 vs!. 1!.6), so you're going to have to do some cropping to get what you want!.
