Question: Many oil paintings transition a background form yellow to blue (in sky) !. How is this done!.!?
Yellow and blue want to become green of course!. Does one have to wait for one of the colors to dry before painting in the other!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

One option: Glazing!.

You first make a grey gradient!. Light grey on the horizon fading to white in the top!. On that you glaze your blue from the top fading down to the grey!. Now you glaze the yellow from the horizon to the blue!. It should not look green and almost 'lifelike'!.

And yes!. With Glazing you wait for every layer to be dry!.

Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
