1!. The kit lens is not made to focus that closely!. There is a distance scale on the lens that you can see, for example, 4 meters, and so on!. If you want to get that close, you must buy another, and you need a macro lens!. like this one:

2 The camera is busy!. You can hold the shutter release button down and I will take the next one when it's ready!. It's not going to break!.

I think photography lessons would be useful for you!. I see that you are overwhelmed so start reading the manual (the whole thing) first if you have not already!.

when it comes to the macro shooting, there's nothing wrong with the lens!. The Canon EF-S 18-55mm IS lens is a starter lens, and it's purpose is just to get you started!. This is an all purpose lens, which is designed to get you really nice shots!. However, you can't expect a one inch macro shot from this lens, that would be the job of a really close up macro lens, and they aren't cheap!.

You have to remember that this is a Digital SLR, and the images you can get, and the subjects you capture almost depend one hundred percent on the lens you attach!. one inch is way under the lens's capabilities!.

this is an example of a macro lens, a 100mm Canon lens, it's a much more professional lens, and can throw the background more out of focus than on the 18-55mm lens, and, as you can see, it's not really cheap, they run around four hundred and fifty dollars, all the way to thousands!.

Photography Isn't A Cheap Hobby!.

however, on your 18-55mm lens, you can still get a macro shot, just stand like a foot away, and don't get to close, but, if you can't get a close enough shot, perhaps upgrade to a cheap lens with more of a focal length than just 18-55mm

when the shutter and aperture blink in the viewfinder/screen, iit means that in image is still being written onto the memory card!. You can still hold down the shutter button, and it'll take the picture, but you'll have to wait a while

nothing is wrong with your lens!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
