If you want Royalty Free pics to use for an article log on to www!.morguefile!.com they have thousands there that have been posted to the site just for that purpose!. Although the creator still holds the copyright you can use them for websites, articles, books, and all sorts of things except selling them as stand alone pics!.
You can for example make greetings cards for sale, with wording on and use a pic, but not just sell it as a picture card!.
At the moment I have had just over 75,000 downloads of my pics, from all over the world!. Remember too that it is good manners if you use a pic to acknowledge the use to the author!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. They are copyrighted by the owner!. MANY Flickr members would be happy to let you use most images free of charge, though, if only you ask and also promise to give credit for the source in your article!. Many others are professional photographers who make their living by selling their work and you can expect to pay a fee for use!. Those people generally watermark their images and disable downloads!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. When a photographer takes a photo, he automatically owns the copyright!. If you want to use the photos you have to contact the photographer for permission!. He will probably want to charge you and allow limited rights for you to use the image for certain usages!. Or he may just require that you give him a credit line!. Depends on the photographer and what you want to use the image for!. Be careful posting a photographers images without his/her consent, you could be opening yourself to serious civil legal action for copyright infringement!. The photographer can find out if someone has posted or used image without his consent- All he has do is "google" himself!. Or if he happens to come across your article somewhere, or someone he knows tells him he saw on of his pictures!. For example:
One night my father called me and said"some of your pictures were on TV" Someone had sent some of my photos that they downloaded off the web to the local station for the weather pictures!. I told the station about it and to ask the submitter some questions like:
1!. What kind of camera did you use
2!. Was this film or digital- What brand film did you use and what ISO was it!?
3!. What shutter speed did you use!?
4!. What f/stop did you use!?
They have not run those pictures since , though they would not tell me who sent them in!. I am a nice guy and pursued this no further, but both the submitter and the tv station were in violation of copyright laws!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. they say right on them that they are copywrighted!. They belong to the photographers!. Some are shareable, at least on flickr, but you have to check for that!. Almost all are automatically copywrighted when they get uploaded!.

And, if it's on public, that means that anyone can VIEW them, not use them!. If they are on private, you won't even see them!.

If you go into my flickr page, you won't even know that I have photos up that are only for viewing by my friends and family!. You don't even know what they are!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No they aren't, they belong to someone and I don't know if you'd be so happy finding out someone's used your photos for random things!.

There is a site though, where you can go to find all sorts of pictures!.

istock photos is a good one, and if you go into deviantart!.com, you can search stock photos or stock accounts and any photos that come up, you can use!Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!.!.!.The artist in most cases retains some sort of rights to their images!. You should just email the owner and ask for permission!. ou might be surprised to see that someone may allow you to do what you want!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
