That photo can be done one of two ways, either you can use a fish-eye lens when shooting the picture!. Or you can use a fish-eye distortion in photoshop!.

Keep in mind though, if you use a fish-eye distortion on a regular picture it won't look nearly as good as using a fish-eye lens to begin with since a fish-eye lens shoots at an extremely wide angle

also, there is a vignette added to the picture as well!. Hope this helps!.

That effect is called 'Vignette' You can have a black, white or even a colored vignette!.

This is done in Corel Paint !. Choose the Artistic effect in the menu and scroll to 'Vignette'!.

You can do this in Phtoshop as well!. It is not the lens or anything like that although I do use this effect manually at times!. But generally, it is done in software and that is the correct term, VIGNETTE!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It doesn't look altered to me!. Bee_o's point about the camera strap has merit!.

It's probably just shot with a very wide angle or even fish-eye lens, lit with a flash!. The flash doesn't cover such a wide angle, so the vignetting is an artifact of inadequate flash coverage!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

the effect is called vignetting, the dark circle around!. Most simple photo effects software have it, usually under a special effects menu item!.

The wide angle effect was from the lense, probablu 28mm or less!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

get a 40 dollar fisheye camera from lomo and some 35mm film!. get one with a built in flash, so you can take pictures in the dark ( like that one) and get a vignette!. heres a link to a photo i took of my bro in the dark with the lomo fish

You can see they used flash-
Held the camera high-
might be a semi-fisheye lens
Shot at night
I can see the camera strap hanging in the photo-
so I am not sure they manipulated this with Photoshop- because I would have cropped that out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

in fact, this might be "bio", taken with a wide angle lens (10mm on a numeric camera) - sorryWww@QuestionHome@Com
