Question: In photoshop, what does "calculations" mean when using that on an image!?
I was playing around with photoshop and hit the "calculations" tab under "Image" in Photoshop today!.!. and I noticed it made the image black and white, but in my opinion a much nicer looking black and white then the the button that sets the photo to black and white makes it!. It glows more, if that makes sense!.!.!.

Anyway, I noticed in the Navigator window, the image still has color and looks normal, without any change to the color of it!.

What does "calculations" do to the image exactly!?

Calculations can be used for a variety of purposes:

Calculations takes information (pixel data like hue or color) from one of the color channels (RGB) of an image, and performs mathematical processes to affect another channel!. The applications of this function are many!. For example:

creating masks:
