look online for something called a "model release form" if you take a pic of someone, and you really like it (assuming you use digital and can see it immediately) you can ask their permission to post it or use it in a portfolio, and get them to sign it!. legal problems gone!. also, offering to email the picture to them gives them the impression that you are more professional, and not just some wierdo taking pics of strangers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No one has a reasonable expectation of privacy in a public location!. You can take anyone's picture in that setting!.

FWIW, this includes law enforcement officers and other public servants!. There have been a lot of news articles of people being arrested or threatened with arrest for photographing police officers; none of those arrests will stand up in court (they live under the same laws we do), but it doesn't stop some of them from bullying people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, it's not, assuming it was taken in a public space!. However, if asked to remove the picture by a person in it, you should probably comply!. While legally you are protected (first amendment rights and all that), there is precedent for lawsuits!. There was a pretty famous photographer who got sued for that a year or two ago!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

its not written as in: it is Illegal to do it, but if anybody saw it, they could sue you, and it would count as being illegal in the court, because some people beleive if you take their picture, it will steal their soulsWww@QuestionHome@Com

I would think so, My suggestion would be to let them know that you did or show them and ask their permission!. It's considered a violation of privacy!.and public rights!. I know if I saw myself online I wouldn't be happy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
