I looked at your website - and it could do with some livening up!.- and showing many more examples of your Dad's work!.
By chance, a friend sent me a link today of the best website design I have seen in a long time, so I am passing it along to you because it mightgive you some ideas (this guy is not a painter but a model, dancer and performer - but it doesn't matter)!. I particularly liked the idea of blocks of tiny images, each of which can be enlarged by clicking onto!. Here is it : http://www!.aleksandarjosipovic!.com/
As regards your opening page I like the brown black landscape - but not your wording which I have changed and I think improved: Firstly : online portfolio needs a capital O - e!.g Online Portfolio (Below, I have also corrected the spelling)
It now reads: Deep in the heart of Texas lies one of the jewels of Austin's art community: Daniel Maldonado is known for his beautiful paintings of hill country landscapes, Indian scenes, and compositions depicted life in the early settler homesteads!. (note I have left out crown jewels and replaced the full stop after the word community with a :)
While his paintings are full of bluebonnets, country snow scenes and animal life, they give the impression that the Texan landscape still contains undiscovered places!.
Maldonado (don'[t put Daniel) succeeds in capturing the true spirit of Texas in every captivating image that spills from his brush and his imagination onto his canvas!.
I don't like the word enjoy with which you end this text - but that is a personal matter!. I hope you find my remarks helpfulWww@QuestionHome@Com

Hi,

The layout is not one of the most pleasant ones that I've seen, but it's a reasonable one!. I know that you are subjected to the layouts provided by the service that you use (just like I am since I don't know a squat of HTML or CSS :-) )!.
I think that a curriculum / bio page would look nice!.
And if he doesn't mind, having his portrait aside his bio would make potential buyers feel more confident and close to the artist!.
Your dad's works are quite good!.
Say, is your family portuguese related !?
Maldonado and Torres are also portuguese names!.

Kind regards,
