Question: I need to get my art degree so I can be an animator!!!?

Who do I contact and what do i do!? No art colleges in the area!. I'm so frustrated with this, I just need a piece of paper that says I can do it!. I could do it now, but you have to have a piece of pulped and dried wood with some ink on it saying you're worth a spit!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you want the piece of paper you could enroll in online courses!. Choose an art school and see if they offer animation online, quite a few do!.

also, you don't necessarily need a degree to be an animator!. Animation and Post Production houses will still hire you if you are very good!. But you need to decide if you want to focus on 2D art or 3D art!. For either, all you really need is a portfolio full of traditional drawings and digital art and a Demo-reel showing your animation software skills!.

If you don't have a degree, your work will have to be very good because your still competing with other professionals!. Be sure to show plenty of emotion, expression, motion and movement with your characters!. Companies want to see that you can draw and animate a wide range of story-telling properties!. Include traditional drawings with pen, ink, or charcoal as well as digital art and digital painting!. Within your demo-reel you'll need to show 2D as well as 3D animation!. Again, you'll need to show plenty of emotion, expression, and motion!. If your leaning toward 3D you'll also want to include and show the use of rigs, UV-Maps and other textures and high end render software!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That sucks!. Do you mean that any job you'd apply for would demand a degree!? Even after they look at your work!? Why!? That's ridiculous!.
