I think Im supposed to set a long shutter speed!.

Is this correct!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, a long shutter speed!. The speed depends on how fast your subject is moving (and sometimes the direction it's moving), and how long your lens is, but any shutter speed longer than 1/60 should work for you!. Experiment with shutter speeds, and don't forget to make your aperture smaller as your shutter speed gets longer!. Definately use a tripod, unless you want to add your motion to the blur!.

Mike, I don't see it as double exposure!. I've had long exposures come out that way!. It probably means he paused at both places, like when you change chords!. I have a similar picture of my daughter where she looks like a ghost because she stood still for a bit then suddenly moved!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Terisu, the second image slightly below is too sharp!. For the kind of image that you're talking about to have a double image like that there would have to be a continous motion!. Similar to the part of the image at the bottom!. That's a continous movement resulting in blur but there's very little blur from where the first image starts and where the second image ends!.And he would have to stay pretty still for a longer period of time to register the second image sharply!. Because the background is dark and the flash went off twice during one exposure, this is the result!.

Especially the part where Peter de Krom explains and gave an example!. There's still going to be some blur because of the long exposure but when the flash goes off, the image registers at the point when the flash goes off and the movement of the subject causes the blur!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Long exposure, like this:
