The blues and gingers are colour opposites and are complementaries!.That is the standard way of enhancing two colours, what is the thing about no life!?!?!? Even copied and studied in Photoshop it is not easy to see the details of the paint handling,so ignore that!!! For my personal taste I would have prefered the sky to be more dark and sullen, imagine a stormy late evening sky to signify the end of days for the poor beetle!.I always associate such images with Kafka's Metamorphosis!.That however is only a personal taste not an aesthetic criticism!.One of the problems of YA is that many of the crits are from lay persons, rather than experienced artists!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think your painting is fun!

When I critique a piece I try to do it in a way that will challenge the artist to work harder, and I try to educate them about the poor impression their half-hearted or "sloppy" work leaves in those who view it!. Your work is not sloppy, as evidenced by your attention to the composition and the details !. !. !.

Reminds me of a watercolor I did a few years back!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can use any brush stokes you want that doesn't matter!. The colors make the image appear flat!. You need to add some lighting on the object!. It looks as though you used a limited palette and your values aren't contrasting enough!. I would go back and add some colored light from the sun and add in color to the shadows and back light with some color to make the image pop!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I LOVE the perspective in this painting!.!.!.the colors are great (orange and blue complimentaries) along with the dark area on the bottom for the viewer to relax!. I love the painting!. It is hard to see brush strokes in this pic, but from what I can tell they are not sloppy at all!.!.!.but what does sloppy even mean!? Sloppy is letting bristles from the paint brush shed on the canvas!.!.!.!.not a style of mark making!.!.!.!.hmm!.!.!.i have no idea what that person was talking about and frankly, he/she is an idiot!. You should check out DeviantArt where you can post artwork and people will comment/favorite it!. You can also post whether you want only good or critical comments!. i dont agree!. Brush stokes can be sloppy!.!.!.its not a photograph!.!.!.honestly i think you could loosen up!. As far as the color goes it could be that their computer screen's saturation isnt turned up enough!. Maybe your color is dull but it looks fine from what i saw!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I liked the reflection of the light coming through the water!. I didn't see any sloppy brush strokes!. You have a talent!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like your work ,am not a critique, like the car but the colors blue and white behind are too bright and that takes attention away from the car!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That's ridiculous!. Can't even begin to see the brush strokes in that small photo!. And your color actually has a lot of life to it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Good painting!.!.!.but I think that the sky seems stronger than the car surface!
I really like your painting!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
