Well as a record of the lake, it's OK!. Your exposure is OK, and you've captured most of the body of water!. Is it art!? Not too much!. Your perspective might have been different!. Lower to the water to flatten out the lake some and bring in the shore features some!. If you had an interchangeable lens DSLR, and had a telephoto lens, It might have compressed the image some and brought in the shore features more!. Horizons don't belong in the middle!. And with out either some foreground interest, or maybe a boat on the lake, or something to add interest, unfortunately it's just a picture of a lake!. As a beginners photo, it really is OK though!. You had in your minds eye an image of this lake, and you tried to capture it on your camera!. I'll bet the image in your head was better than the image your camera captured though!. Keep trying! Study photography and art, and learn the rules of the biz!. You, just like any other beginner, have to learn the In's and outs of what is a highly technical art form!. Not everybody is a prodigy, and we all have to learn what we're doing!.
Good luck, and keep at it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's a decent record shot - if you wanted to show what the lake looked like, you've managed that!. There's also a nice dramatic sky!.
If you want a few tips on how you could improve it, well here goes:

The lighting's a bit flat - try going back in the early morning or late evening for a golden glow!. Or try tweaking the levels if you've got Photoshop or a similar editing program!.
Your horizon's too central and the water dominates a bit too much!. Try getting nearer the ground and angling the camera upwards!.
You've got camera flare in the top left of the shot!. Ask a friend to stand just out of shot to cast a shadow across the front of the lens, or hold a piece of card (or even your hand) there!.

Good luck with you photography!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's a well composed, natural looking shot!. The horizon is nearly spot on the golden ratio and the sunlight on the water seems to be pretty close to it!. I also like the way the grass and bushes in the foreground help to frame the scene!. I hope you will continue doing photography!Www@QuestionHome@Com

although the picture isnt that good a quality (blame the camera) the light entering from through the clouds makes it a good pictue, but next time i wouldnt centre the lake, take a picture with whats at the left of the lake or at the rightWww@QuestionHome@Com

I like the picture very much, love the view just a bit too much light coming in from the left!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Quite Good,
If the photo has nothing to focus on, though, you should try a slightly different angle!.
