Everyone really gave you good answers to your question!. I'd like to just add that for a smoother blend, you'll want an app that has a "feather" option!. Photofiltre does not, but GIMP does!. Like someone mentioned above, GIMP is free!. Photoshop is King, and of course has a feather option!. There are free trials of Photoshop as well!.

To change eye color w/ GIMP you want to follow the instructions they gave you above (it's similar to Photofiltre also)- you know, the lasso tool or pen tool around the eye!. MAKE SURE you then DESELECT the PUPIL from this selection!. You only want the colored part of the eye selected!. Then go to the SELECTION menu, and go to FEATHER!. Choose to feather about 2-3 pixels!. Then select the HUE/SATURATION slider to adjust the color!.!.!.etc

Photoshop will come out the best- especially because they have the PEN SELECTION tool which is awesome!. It'smuch easier to use- you choose it's size & wether you want to SELECT or DESELECT!. Then it's like coloring in!. Any mistakes that go outside of the boundary of what you're selecting, click the DESELECT button to remove what you don't want included!. Then, again, go to the SELECTION menu & choose FEATHER (and again choose 2 or 3)!. Then go to ENHANCE, COLORS, and here you have several different options!. I usually use HUE/SATURATION , but you can also choose "REPLACE COLOR", "Color Variations" etc!.

good luck!. (ps- there are TONS of tutorials on the web to help you with this- just google it!. If you choose to download, say GIMP, but found a good tut for Photoshop, or vice versa, it's fairly easy to adjust it to suit your chosen application!. Plus, the tuts on the web will have images to go with them, which will make it much easier to understand)

*you know what- i want to add this!. If you are someone with no experience using image editors, all of this might seem a bit daunting, to say the least! There are online sites that you can edit images with, that will not come out nearly as nice, but may be easier!. One that i know of that you could use is called Picnic, which is free!. There's a part where you can colorize your image!. Read the mini tooltips that pop up & it'll show you how you can choose to just colorize a part of your image rather than the whole image!. Then you can use something similar to the pen tool i told you about in PS, to select the eye part you want to color!. Then you can choose FADE which will blend it better, and pick from 0-100% (probably around 50% will look best), and pick a color!. Again, it won't look as nice as with an image editor because you don't have as much control with it!. And honestly, it's not hard to do at all with an image editor, you just might not feel like going through all of that if you don't plan on doing any more editing in the future!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can download PhotoFiltre for free:
http://photofiltre!.free!.fr/

Selective Coloring with Photo Filtre:

-File>Open
-Selection>Set Shape>Lasso
-Use the Lasso Tool to select the area you want to color
by drawing around it!. Zoom in on area when doing this!.
-Adjust>Hue/Saturation Move the Hue slider to adjust the color
-Section>Hide Selection!.

-If you need to touch up the edges of the re-colored area to blend in better
use the Smudge Tool on the "precise" setting!.!.!.keep opacity low, around 10-20!.

When done click File>Save AsWww@QuestionHome@Com

well!.!.!. Cali Sue is correct !.!.!.
there are various different ways to do it!.
But i normally don't prefer to use the lasso tool when i am dealing with small and tiny things such as selecting and eye!.
1!. I prefer pen tool!. you can make a path using the pen tool!.
2!. and when the path is closed CTRL + enter to make the selection
3!. then you can either go what Cali told you or you can take the color of your choice by clicking the bottom of the tool pallet!.
4!. then take another layer and fill the color you chose for the eye , cause the selection was made the color will stay within the area selected!.
5!. from the layer menu select overlay from the scroll menu next to the opticity!. after selecting overlay!.!. you can experiment with the opticity level!.

I think you should buy a certain program to do it!. There's different one's!. so go to google check it out!. You can do it on your normal computer with the programs it already has, but it's not NEAR as good!. so i would just go to google, check it out, local store, money and buy! :DWww@QuestionHome@Com

There is a freeware program called Gimp which is like Photoshop but you don't have to by the software package!.

It can be tricky to figure out if you haven't worked in a graphics program before so before you get frustrated, seek help from the instruction and user files!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
