Question: Why would you say a mirror shows what you look like more accurately as opposed to a camera!?
the mirror gives you a reverse image, right!? but the camera does not!. Now, obviously, photos taken at weird angles and the flash can make a person look different (better-looking, perhaps!?) but if one took a good camera and took a "normal" shot!.!.!.then would it not be more accurate than a mirror!?

I think this is an interesting question of perception!. I guess what I am asking is--how can you find out how others see you!? The camera is the most "third person' you can get, no!? Or would you simply say that the mirror shows you how others see you!.!.!.!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

The thing with a camera is that an image is rendered flat by the camera!. The human eye cannot then determine accurately the originally rendered three dimensional image!.

A mirror, while it renders an image flat, you are actually looking at two separate images (one for each eye), as the light reflects across the spectrum!.

A mirror would be a more accurate reflection (pardon the pun), despite the reverse image issue!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Lighting and angles are factors with mirrors, too!. Just look at a House of Mirrors for examples of extremes for this!. So a "normal" shot from a camera would indeed be a more accurate image of you than you would get from a mirror because, as you point out, a mirror gives you a reverse image!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Mirror image is most likely more accurate
I look better in the mirror image!.
I hate PhotographsWww@QuestionHome@Com

I think its because a mirror tells you your real self real time!.!.!.!.!.!.
and images are just angles of you and may be good or bad!.!.!.

and the mirror never lies!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I sure as hell hope mirrors are more accurate!.!. I leave the house thinking im looking quiet nice but then see myself in a photo and I look horrible!.!.!. its upsetting!.!. I avoid pics at all costs now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, the camera DOES lie!. It can take a picture from a vantage point that human eyes do not normally view another person!. This is typical with a smaller point and shoot camera when the picture was taken indoors at close range!. The lenses are fairly wide angle and this does introduce some distortion, making things s-p-r-e-a-d out!. If you see someone taking pictures indoors, do your best to get center frame!

They also put out rather harsh light from the flash!. As the subject, there is little you can do about this, but be aware that this kind of lighting shows off everything and it makes your face look fatter, because there are no shadows "around the corner" to define the limits of your face!. Anything that is facing the camera will be lit up and it makes it look like your face is wider than it really is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Gee, hate photos, avoid them like root canal cause I just dont personally like them no matter how I look, my brother is always saying, so your hair is messed up who cares, we're family, but have avoided them since I was little or was in when I stopped looking cute with the dimples, not sure, but then again some mirrors do seem to be complentary and others not, I think its a personal choice, but yeah, cameras make me uncomfortable, have a cousin who is so hot he'd melt film, but in photos, they just dont show him like he is, or is that just my perception of him, good question! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
