the only way to shoot a picture like this is to have the right equipment and a fair amount of knowledge, you will need a tripod, a slr camera, and know how to use your camera, you need to set you camera on the tripod, use a shutter release or self tmer to keep from transferring vibration of you pressing the shutter to the camera and you will need to have your camera set to Shutter or Manual, shutter will allow you to tell the camera how long to leave the shutter open which determins how long the ccd or the film is exposed!. If you shoot in manual you will also need to set your aperture this is probaly around a F16 and shutter around 1/2 to 1 second, depending on the rate of flow of the water!. Set you shutter speed and press the shutter or hit the shutter release and wait for the shutter to close and then check your picture!. the longer your shutter speed is open the more blure you will recieve from the water and the shorter the shutter the sharper the water will appear!. none of this will be possible if you have a point in shoot camera, your average 300 dollar camera, you will need a SLR camera, these have detatchable len's and will probaly costs you upwards of $800, good luck and happy shooting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Basically, you want a slow shutter speed!. If you are thinking about using a point and shoot, you need to find out if you can put it in a manual mode and select a shutter speed!. If your camera won't do that, then pack it up because you won't get there without it!. If it will, select a low ISO speed and a high aperture along with a slow shutter speed!. I tripod will be a must have for anything under 1/60 of a second!. Play with the exposure some and you should be able to get something similar!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Tripod!. Deep shade or shoot at twilight!. Small aperture to have maximum DOF!. Long exposure!. You will have to determine exposure based on how much light is there and how silky you want the water to be!. Silky water requires exposures longer than one second, depending on how fast the water flow is, maybe up to several seconds!. That is why you shoot in dim light!. This kind of shot cannot be done in bright light unless you have some serious ND filters!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To get water to look like that, place your camera on a tripod!. Set to minimum ISO number and the aperture to smallest opening (largest "f" number!.) Hopefully the correct shutter speed will be long; perhaps 15 to 60 seconds!. The longer the exposure the more the water will look smoothed over!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Somehow, this looks horribly fake to me!. I think somebody Photoshopped the bejesus out of it!. Water just does not look like that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
