I think everybody has his/her own favourites!. For sketching, I'd recommend the Thick'n'thin Pen (under Pens, of course) or the 2B Pencil!.

To apply flat colours (blocking) that you can later add refinements to, I use the gouache tools!. These tool typically covers the colours underneath!.

To start shading, I normally use either the Felt Pens or the Camelhair brushes!.

Like said, it will depend on you trying the different brushes and gradually find those that best suit your needs!.

also, try the Painter newsgroups, using the cnews!.corel!.com server while creating a new Newsgroup Account with your Outlook Express or with Windows Live Mail!. They are VERY useful!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

any brush that fits you!. or what you are trying to do!. i never had much luck getting color from the colored pencils ironically!.

as far as shading!. just like making use of the color wheel in real life to get shade and contrast!. fiddle with the opacity usually to blend the colors you can use a one of the blending brushes!.

i work with painter IX, maybe it has changed a little bit, but not to dramatically for you to not know what i am talking about!.

hope this helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
