It looks like a Chicken!. No other birds come to mind!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't really think that it is based on any particular bird species!. I think it is just an abstracted and stylized version of a generic bird!. Traditional Indian art is highly decorative and stylized anyway, so that would be my guess!.

Its a little hard to tell if thats a long feather under it or not!.!.!. If it is, it could be a bird of paradise (not the flower but a real bird of course), or it does resemble a chicken!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
