It sounds like your are describing jpeg artifacting, seen when blowing up a low resolution image!.

You can remove the artifacts in Photoshop, if you have CS2 or CS3!.

In Photoshop, go to the Filters Menu>Noise>Reduce Noise

In the Noise dialog box, select the advanced noise reduction options!.

Select the Remove JPEG Artifact option!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I believe the boxes you are talking about are either pixels or jpg artifacts!.

Pixels are the fundamental building blocks of an image!. Images measure the amount of pixels by the resolution!. The higher the resolution, the more tightly packed the pixels, and thus the larger the picture can become without becoming pixelated!. You can't fix or remove pixels with any program, if you remove them, you delete the actual picture!.

Jpg artifacts are blocky areas of a picture where the original image quality is lost due to optimization!. You cannot get rid of these if the image is already like this!. This happens when you save a picture in a compressed form!.

Hope this helps, the question was a bit vague!.
