Question: What should I do to my finished pencil drawings to make it last longer!?
I just used a normal grey lead pencil!. I have a few drawings, but I'm not sure what to do to it now that it's finished!. I was told I should spray it with something, or something like that so it wont smudge or wipe off!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

DO NOT USE HAIRSPRAY! It contains conditioners and fragrances that can yellow your paper and ruin your art!.

Instead buy a can of spray fixative!. Or better yet, just store them in a box lined in acid-free paper!. There really is no need to spray your sketches, unless they are prize-winning complete works of art !. !. !. and not just beginning drawings!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't use hairspray!. People use hairspray as a poor man's sealer and you get what you pay for!.

Use krylon crystal clear or workable fixative, but I prefer crystal clear!. it protects your drawing and you can rework it if necessary!. Hairspray is a terrible use especially with charcoal!. In many cases it leaves a strange residue and you can not rework over it easily!.

Crystal clear is very good for sealing many mediums on many surfaces!. Particularly pencil drawings for painting over or just protection!. Again, workable fixative is another option, but I prefer crystal clear!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Erm i would say to try hairspray!.!.!.!.it holds everything in place!. hair, leotards (to a certain extent) and i'm pretty sure that it works with chalk and stuff on paper! Spray it with a light mist and see if it works! be careful not to spray too close! If this does not work frame it or put it in a special notebook!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I know that on construction paper hairspray works for chalk, maybe it works on pencil too, try it out, experiment! Please answer my question too!
