Don't mean to bust your bubble, but the material in most pencils is a varying degree of graphite!. I have been doing and teaching drafting for over 20 years!. Use a white eraser!. It won't smear as bad and don't use a pink eraser, it will leave pink streaks on certain types of paper!. OK, the difference between a #2, etc!.!.!. is the density of the graphite!. It ranges from a 6,5,4,3,2B, B, HB, F, H, 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9H!. That is from very soft to (9H) very hard!. 9H will cut a hole in your paper if you bare down on it!. Example: I have a 9H pencil that I have sharpened once in 20 years!. Are there any other fricken' questions!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
