Question: I am going to be in 10th grade this fall!. Is it possible to draw REALLY good in 2-3 years!?
I am going to be in 10th grade this fall!. Is it possible to draw REALLY good in 1-2 years!?
-----
I want to be a fashion designer, and I know you have to draw really good to be one!. But I am not looking to be a really famous one, or even famous at all!. I just want to be a designer that makes good money and is known around my area when I get older!.
-----
I am not sure if I want to go to a Fashion college like FIDM or Parson, for example, or one that just has fashion majors!. But I believe by around the end or middle of junior year, I have to start sending applications!.
----
My drawing skills are okay!. Better compared to a lot of people around me, because a lot of people honestly don't draw too good!. But compared to some people, I am really not good!. I can't sketch fast, and I haven't perfected the human form yet to draw clothes good on them!. I want to be good so I can draw good for fashion designing, and good also to draw a bit realistic!. I am not looking to draw like an artist!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I wouldn't worry too much!. You don't have to draw amazingly well to be a fashion designer!. It's more about understanding materials, having a design sense!. Your drawings just have to be good enough to get your ideas across!. Honestly, a lot of people just use the same figure and just lay tracing paper or a thin paper over it and draw the clothing!. It's just easier and more efficient!.
Learn to draw clothes well, and more importantly, start looking at more fashion!. Look at unusual magazines!. Fashion from other countries (Japan, Italy etc), fashion from history, innovative fashion using technology!. Look at design and architecture!. Get inspired! Ask yourself what you like and don't like, and think about why you don't like or like something!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
