Question: Not sure about the Nikon D40!?
I just ask a question about my camera, but I have one more!
I dont think this camera is right for me, I like to zoom it to things and I cant get this one to zoom in very much!. Will this camera do that or should I take this one back and get a different one!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

The camera has interchangeable lenses, the camera body choice is probably OK!. Go back & explain what you feel is lacking in the lens!. When you say zoom in do you mean, taking photos from a distance, like looking through a telescope or taking close ups, up close!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Most likely, you are currently limited to the 18-55mm lens that came with it!. You can easily add to your range by getting the 55-200mm, either in the plain or VR (my recommendation) versions!.

Remember, a dslr like the D40 is part of a system that can grow with your needs and skills!. You don't need to change the camera, just the lens!.

Here's a site that shows you what different lens focal lengths will look like!. Even though it's for Tamron lenses, the effect is the same for Nikon optics!. Slide the blue arrow on the scale at the bottom and see the amazing difference between 18mm and 200mm!

Yes, I must agree with the rest that your camera comes with an interchangeable lens!. That is what the advantage of what most DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) cameras have!.

It depends on what you are wanting to zoom into:

If it is zooming into something small and tiny, it is best you buy a macro lens!. Like this one: http://www!.dpreview!.com/news/0602/060221!.!.!.

But if you want to zoom into a subject in a field, you could get this one: http://www!.google!.com!.sg/search!?q=nikkor!.!.!.

Each lens have their own usage, so it depends on what you want to get out of them!.

I own a Nikon too,!.!.!. so I often use these links above to get to know what I am getting!.
I hope this helps!. Have fun!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

the amount of zoom depends on the lens you buy!. A kit lens is by no means meant to zoom in super close!.

you'll want to get a telephoto lens!.
