Soft pastels! Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well!.!.!.it depends on what you are after!. If you start by doing a charcoal as a value study you will understand the the painting better before you start the actual painting!. If you are simply copying the painting as is you may not need that step!. I would use watercolor because I think nothing glows more than transparent watercolors next to opaques!. The light colors in this against the dark background make a very special effect on this painting I really like!. Examine the dark background carefully, it is more important than you might think at first!. Experiment with it on a separate piece of paper!. Make sure you are careful to leave the white areas clean even if you have to write "white" in pencil on the paper in those areas!. Look up how to mix flesh colors on line or in a watercolor book, it isn't difficult, but it is better to have a formula for it than to have to experiment for hours trying to find the right combination!. Good luck!. Next try doing you children, grandchildren, neighbor's kids, whatever in a the same pose!. Check the paragraph on "Pallet" in the following link;

That is some artist's work to copy it is unethical at best!. Take a photo of your own composition and be original!. If you are comfortable drawing stick to pastels!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
